Watch rrTV video

New for September 2009, RR has converted video encoding over to the new H.264 format (MP4). The quality versus file size is far superior when compared to Windows Media Video (WMV). Embedded web page playback works best with Windows Media Player 12 (Win7). As a fallback use the Adobe Flash or Apple QuickTime players.

There are many other ways to play MP4 video by first downloading files to local disk. To download rrTV video files click the SD, LD or HD links. LD is formatted for mobile phones and other less powerful computers.

Different software and hardware combinations can make a big difference on playback quality and performance issues (skipped frames). Before doing a hardware upgrade try upgrading software first. Try another player and or codec - http://www.google.com/search?q=H.264+Player+Codec

H.264 Players for rrTV 720-60P HD MP4 Video:
  • Windows Media Player 12 - Best
  • Nero ShowTime - Excellent
  • VLC media player - Good (free)
  • Apple Quicktime - OK
  • Abobe Flash - Poor
  • Silverlight 3 - Poor

Embed Videos into Your Posts

First, locate the video's ID. This can be done by right clicking on the video and selecting Copy Video url or copying the ID directly from the address line. For example:

The ID for this YouTube video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gi7G-VzU2r4) is: gi7G-VzU2r4.
The ID for this Vimeo video (http://www.vimeo.com/19990328) is: 19990328.

Currently, RunRyder only has a Post Tag button for YouTube videos. Click the YT (YouTube) Post Tag button, paste the ID into the prompt window and press Ok. YouTube tags will be added to the ID. Click Preview or Submit to see the result.

To embed a Vimeo video, manually add the Post Tags to the video ID.
For example: [vimeo]19990328[/vimeo]. Click Preview or Submit to see the result.

Add Videos to My Gallery

Videos can be added to your My Gallery provided that they are 10mb or less and are saved as a .zip file. Upload the video via the Upload Photo or File toolbar at the bottom of your MY GALLERY. After you upload the video, manually place the file information in your script to have it displayed in your gallery.
Photo Display and Usage Problems

If you encounter errors with photo uploading, MyFastPhoto, or Clipboard, it is likely a cache problem. First, try a "View Refresh" by pressing Crtl-R or F5. If the error still persists, try deleting your temporary internet files (cache) and off line content: How to Clear Your Cache.

If you encounter a "Document contains no data" error when uploading photos, you might have a slow or flaky route to RunRyder. To debug your individual internet route to RR, go to your personal computer command window (go to Start - Run, and then type in "cmd"). Type the following into your Command Window: C:\tracert runryder.com

This is an example of a fast connection (+150 ms would be slow):
