My Gallery Scripting

My Gallery is your place to upload photos, videos or files and create scripts about you and your hobby. A link to your MY GALLERY is found in the top header of every RR page.

There are three basic steps to script your gallery:
  1. Click the EDIT SCRIPT link located at the top left of your gallery, which will open a script text box at the bottom of your gallery
    =OR=
Click the  EDIT SCRIPT  link (top right) in your script's title bar, which will open a separate window with a script text box.
  2. Enter your scripting (HTML or rrScript Tags) in this text box.
  3. Click Save Script and do a Crtl-R or F5 "View Refresh" on the script window to see the results.

For RunRyder Script Tag documentation click here.

If you would like to add an additional page to your gallery, you will need to create a new script. You can do this by clicking DISPLAY ALL at the top of your gallery. At the bottom of the screen there will be a empty text box titled New Script Name. Enter a script name and click Submit New Script. Keeping the "Add link to Welcome script" box checked will automatically place a link to your new script in your gallery's opening script.

Here is an example of a RunRyder member who uses several scripts: flytech. Click DISPLAY ALL to see the multiple scripts flytech has created and used to design his gallery. Click the View Script link at the top of any member's gallery for more scripting examples.

Upload Photos or Files to My Gallery

Click the MY GALLERY link which is displayed at the top of every page. At the bottom of the My Gallery page, there is an Upload Photo or File box. Click the Browse link and search your computer for the photos or files you wish to upload.

You can upload up to four files at a time (with a maximum size of 10MB for each) or you can upload many photos at a time using a packed zip file (100MB max). You can only upload files with the following extensions:
jpg gif png txt html doc mid pdf pps psd rec dmo g3x rfx fly gz zip

After selecting your photos and files, click the Upload button.

All uploaded photos are automatically added to your Clipboard. Open Clipboard to copy the image scripting and add it to your Gallery script, or click Empty to remove the photos from Clipboard.

If the "Add to script" option is displayed and checked, your uploads will added to your current script when you click Upload.

Click DISPLAY ALL to see all the scripts, photos and files in My Gallery.
Click EDIT SCRIPT to add or arrange photos in your scripts.
Add Photo from another Website to My Gallery

Right click on the photo, click Properties, then select and copy the complete address/URL. Go to your MY GALLERY, click EDIT SCRIPT, and place your cursor in the section of the script where you want to insert the photo. Click the IMG format button (located above the text box). A small window will open. Paste the URL into that window and click OK. A special HTTP code will be inserted into your post. Click Save Script to see the result.

Caution: Do not alter the copied address/URL or your photo will not display properly.
Add Videos to My Gallery

Videos can be added to your My Gallery provided that they are 10mb or less and are saved as a .zip file. Upload the video via the Upload Photo or File toolbar at the bottom of your MY GALLERY. After you upload the video, manually place the file information in your script to have it displayed in your gallery.
Deleting Photos, Files or Scripts

To delete photos, files or scripts from MY GALLERY, first click the DISPLAY ALL link found at the top left of your gallery. Next, check the selection box above each photo (or script or files) you wish to delete. Then click the Delete Selected button on the bottom right.
Add Titles to My Gallery

Titles are a helpful way to divide up and explain photos in your gallery. To add a title, you must click EDIT SCRIPT in your gallery. Find the place in your script where you would like to add a title. Type in [title] and next to this whatever you wish the title to be. After you are done, click the "Save Script" button at the bottom on your text box to have your title displayed.

For Example: [title] My Pico Z
This would produce a grey title bar with "My Pico Z", centered and in white font.
Add Text or Captions above My Gallery Photos

Click EDIT SCRIPT in your gallery. Then scroll down the page to the script text box. Locate the image you wish to add a caption to. Add at the end of the image file name type: "[desc]". After [desc], enter the caption you wish to use. When you are done click the “Save Welcome Script” button.

For Example: [img] /helicopter/gallery/9523/DSC_0470.jpg [desc] My pride and joy
This would add a caption on top of the picture saying "My pride and joy"
My Gallery Thumbnail Photo

RunRyder displays thumbnail photos from selected member galleries in the top left portion of all RunRyder Pages. These photos display at a random starting point each time you visit the site.

Photos displayed in this area are handpicked by RunRyder moderators from the Main Galleries. Additional photos may also be selected to represent "The Best of" photos in RunRyder's Electric, Scale and Turbine Galleries. If you would like to change the picture that represents your gallery, pmRR with the request.

Be sure to upload colorful, attractive, RC heli photos via My Gallery if you would like to your image selected for rotation in this area.
View All Member Galleries

In GALLERIES, click the Total 5230 link to view all. This will produce a Galleries Grid in which you can click on individual member names to view their gallery.

Another way to review all Main Galleries is to continue clicking the top right photo thumbnail. The photo thumbnails are displayed in order with a random starting point for each new visit to RunRyder. Every time you view a new page or do a screen refresh a new photo (a link to a member’s gallery) is displayed. Therefore each time you click on the photo thumbnail a new gallery will be displayed.
Use Keystrokes to Traverse Gallery Photos

Internet Explorer: Right Arrow or Alt-p for previous and Left Arrow or Alt-n for next

FireFox: Right Arrow or Shift-Alt-p for previous and Left Arrow or Shift-Alt-n for next.
Fix Broken My Gallery Scripts

  1. Click on  EDIT SCRIPT  link (top right) to open a separate script editing window.
  2. Edit in a [break] tag at varying points in your script to narrow down problem.
[break] This tag stops displaying script below the point where it is inserted. It is used to debug broken scripts caused by malformed html.
  3. Click Save Script and do a Crtl-R or F5 "View Refresh" on the broken script window.
Resize Popup Gallery Windows

RunRyder defaults all galleries to popup in a non resizable format. If the default non resizable gallery does not fit your screen correctly then go to myHOME Edit Options.

Within Edit Options, you can manually adjust the screen height by changing the Adjust Gallery or Photo Popup Window Bottom Position. Select a plus or minus value to move the bottom of the popup window up or down. To test your changes, click Submit Modifications, then click GALLERIES and click on a member’s gallery for a popup window.
My Gallery Display and Usage Problems

If you encounter errors with gallery scripting or photo uploading it is likely a cache problem. First, try a "View Refresh" by pressing Crtl-R or F5. If the error still persists, try deleting your temporary internet files (cache) and off line content: How to Clear Your Cache.
