Start with household tweezers. Make sure they are at least 6mm wide at the fat section. I bought mine at the dollar store for 50 cents.
| Now cut, file or grind both ends until you reach the widest section. Mark where the hole will go and use a 2mm bit to drill through both plates. If necessary, squeeze the tweezers to make sure both holes will line up.
| Enlarge one of the holes to 3.7mm and then cut a slot from the edge of the plate to the hole. I started by enlarging the hole with a 1/8” bit and worked my way thru with a file. Make sure the gap is big enough to clear the head of the ball.
| Now insert a 2x4mm screw from the outside in, and use a 2mm nut to lock it.
