Hey Look! Mail Call did a bit on us
Government Sponsored Trip to Iraq in 2003
I grew up around R/C for most of my life. My Dad use to build in my room when I was a toddler. One such model was this Mark's Models Windfree he built in 1976. Dad and I, yes that lil' fart.
In 1998 we took these pictures of Dad, Myself and my Son with the Windfree.
I attended Pattern contest with my Dad. Not flying but crewing his pattern ship, the Tiger Tail. She had a Proline Radio, HB .61, Macs Tune Pipe and Goldberg Retracts. Dad flew the Tiger Tail for 12 years. The engine compartment and firewall were pretty fuel soaked by the day of her demise.
Wiping her down in 1980 or 1981
Day of her demise
He had a mid-air with the Sport-Air .40 in the background. Dad quit flying pattern, then it was about having fun and training me. This is a picture of me with my first power plane an EZ 10. It was three channel with a Futaba 4FN, S-20 servos, O.S. 10 FSR. Later we put an O.S. 15 in it.
Throughout High Schoool, I dabbled in R/C. Dreamed of Helis but, flew sailplanes mostly with an occasional power plane. This is a picture of my Bob Martin Talon.
