I've found some blades that fit a heli that I no longer own. I have another heli that they will fit in length but the blade grips are narrower than the blade root.
Has anyone found a cost effective solution to cutting the root down and ending up with a surface that is perpendicular to the blade mounting hole? Other than setting them up in an industrial milling machine that is.
The blades are V-Blade 710 mm that have a raised fiberglass(?) washer glued/glassed(?) to them at the root. I have found that the brass tube in the blade mounting hole can be easily removed, cut down and reinstalled.
I would also be interested in comments on "milling" down only one face of the root. Can this make anything lopsided?
If you get an answer, it'll help me too. I got a set of blades with the last used heli I bought that were "just a little" too wide for the blade grips!! so............BUMP!!
